Convexio Jobs

We are looking for people who like going into difficult systems and making them cleaner.

Convexio builds AI-powered infrastructure for financial data analysis in consumer protection. We automate adversarial documents, structure evidence, and are now building the next step toward EU expansion. We need strong builders with precision, curiosity, and sound judgment.

Remote-firstOccasional Hamburg meetupsHigh-trustAI x LegalTech x RegTechHuman-centered design

Real technical difficulty

We build systems for adversarial PDFs, cell-level extraction, defensible analysis, and software that has to survive real customer data.

AI x Legal x Consumer protection

Our product sits at the intersection of document intelligence, RegTech, and human-centered product design. The problem is real, narrow, and hard to copy.

Small team, clear ownership

Remote-first, occasional Hamburg meetups, little theater, a lot of responsibility. We like clear structure, direct communication, and clean decisions.

Roles with real leverage

The three highest-leverage profiles for the next phase are product engineering, document intelligence, and regulatory systems. On top of that, we are open to unusually strong generalists.

Full-timeRemoteEuropeProduct + Backend

Founding Product Engineer

You build product, backend, and UX as one connected system.

This role is for someone who likes working end-to-end: Svelte frontend, Python backend, data model, workflows, debugging, and product details that matter in real legal operations.

What you work on

  • Ship across webapp, API, and data flows without artificial handoff boundaries.
  • Simplify complex user workflows in ways that make them more robust and more human, not more superficial.
  • Turn customer-specific edge cases into stable product capabilities.

Strong signals

  • You ship across the stack and do not need handoff theater.
  • You prefer dense expert software over glossy marketing apps.
  • You are strong at debugging real failure modes, not just greenfield demos.
Full-timeRemoteEuropeML + Systems

Applied AI / Document Intelligence Engineer

You go after adversarial PDFs and improve extraction where standard OCR gives up.

The leverage in this role sits in OCR, layout detection, evaluation, error analysis, and production hardening. We are not looking for slide-deck AI. We want someone who can make models and heuristics better on real documents.

What you work on

  • Improve extraction pipelines, benchmarks, and evaluations for difficult document formats.
  • Work with cell-level and table-level error analysis instead of relying on coarse aggregates.
  • Combine ML, classical heuristics, and product requirements pragmatically.

Strong signals

  • You like experiments, but you also like operationalizing them properly.
  • You enjoy weird data, visual artifacts, and stubborn edge cases.
  • You think in precision, failure patterns, and reproducibility.
Full-timeRemoteEuropeRules + Product

Legal Data / Regulatory Systems Engineer

You translate regulatory logic into executable, explainable product systems.

For EU expansion, we need people who can work across legal text, data logic, and product quality. This is about deadlines, licensing windows, thresholds, and automation that can be explained and trusted.

What you work on

  • Translate jurisdiction-specific rules into robust analysis and validation logic.
  • Work with engineering and product on explainable reports and review paths.
  • Help build data models, tests, and domain QA for new markets.

Strong signals

  • You can break ambiguous requirements down into precise system logic.
  • You like thinking in rules, exceptions, traceability, and error bounds.
  • You do not need a rigid split between domain work and engineering.

Open Application for Sharp Generalists

If you do not fit cleanly into a role title but would still move the team forward hard.

We are open to unusually strong generalists with substance. If you think you can create clear leverage in product, infrastructure, AI, or operations, tell us exactly where.

What you work on

  • Do not wait for a role description. Identify a real problem and go after it.
  • Move across disciplines without losing quality or ownership.
  • Become productive with limited guidance and create clear decision support.

Strong signals

  • You have unusually high drive and can show that through real work.
  • You do not need a corporate simulation to be effective.
  • You can explain concisely why you matter for this team in particular.
Who often fits well here

Not a glossy corporate fit.

We do not hire for social polish or buzzword theater. We look for clarity, substance, reliability, and people who like building. Many people who do well here are unusual, deeply focused, or neurodivergent. That is not a problem. It is often an advantage.

Probably a good fit

  • You like hard, real problems with many edge cases and little theater.
  • You like focused, async work with clear written decisions.
  • You need depth, precision, and ownership more than status games or meeting cascades.
  • Many people who work well here are neurodivergent, unusually focused, or highly systematic. That is welcome.

Probably not

  • You mainly want to manage, coordinate, or play politics instead of building.
  • You need rigid ownership boundaries, heavy guidance, or constant social activity.
  • You optimize more for corporate polish than for correctness, speed, and user value.
What we offer

Setup and application

  • Remote-first with occasional meetups in the Hamburg office.
  • High-trust, low-bullshit, and clear ownership without unnecessary hierarchy.
  • Work on current AI, RegTech, and LegalTech infrastructure with real customer value.
  • Room for deep work, clean systems, and human-centered product thinking.

Send us

  • a few lines about the role or problem you would take on here
  • links to GitHub, projects, papers, or other work with real signal
  • ideally one short example of a hard technical or analytical problem you solved cleanly

No elaborate cover-letter choreography needed. Short, concrete, and high-signal is better.
